Reality Bytes and Pieces

Here’s what the Baltimore Sun reported in a March, 2, 2007 article detailing Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) ancestors who owned slaves:

According to the research, one of Obama’s great-great-great-great grandfathers, George Washington Overall, owned two slaves who were recorded in the 1850 census in Nelson County, Ky. The same records show that one of Obama’s great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers, Mary Duvall, also owned two slaves.

The Sun retraced much of Reitwiesner’s work, using census information available on the Web site ancestry.com and documents retrieved by the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, among other sources. The records show that Overall, then 30, owned a 15-year-old black female and a 25-year-old black male, while Mary Duvall, his mother-in-law, owned a 60-year-old black man and a 58-year-old black woman. (Slaves are listed in the 1850 census by owner, age, “sex,” and “colour,” not by name.)

An Obama spokesman did not dispute the information and said that the senator’s ancestors “are representative of America.”

Could Obama’s guilty conscience, if he has one, lead him to pay for the sins of his racist, slave-owning ancestors? According to Chicago, Ill.-based journalist Andy Martin, Obama supports fellow black elected leaders who have expressed a desire to grant slavery reparations to Black Americans.

Obama hangs with the reparations crowd. Now guilt by association is certainly unfair. But if you hang with the reparations crowd, they must see something in you they like. Indeed they do. U. S. Representative John Conyers, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is reportedly waiting for Obama to be elected so Conyers can rush a reparations law through Congress. (The Hill, 3/13/ 2007) Hmmm. Does Conyers know something we don’t?

Finally, the most telling indication that Obama has a secret addiction to reparations is reflected in those who support him and those whom he supports: the most notorious race-baiter on the Chicago City Council, Alderwoman Dorothy Tillman.

Haven’t heard of Dorothy Tillman? You better learn about Obama’s #1 supporter. And fast. You really should know who she is. Tillman has almost single-handedly made a joke of the City of Chicago in the public finance industry over her preoccupation with slavery and reparations.

Tillman supports Obama and Obama supports Tillman.

Last week (2007) Obama endorsed Tillman for reelection. Tillman was forced into a runoff after her opponents failed to agree on a single candidate to oppose her. Tillman was an early supporter of Obama’s in his rise to prominence over the past decade.

And Tillman is a disgrace. Her favorite pastime is abusing banks and financial institutions that want to do business with the City of Chicago. A regular feature of council proceedings is Tillman flaying banks for “owning slaves” at some remote point in history over 150 years ago.

Using a 2002 “Slavery Era Disclosure Ordinance” that she authored, Tillman has accused Bank of America of having a predecessor bank that made “leg irons for slaves.” Wachovia, J.P. Morgan Chase, LaSalle Bank, Lehman Brothers, American General and Nationwide Life Insurance were all brought before Tillman’s mast and whipped for their ties to slavery, however remote, over 150 years ago.

Indeed, Tillman has been quoted as saying her goal is to “repair the damage of 400 years” of slavery. “America owes us,” Tillman demands (Sun-Times 3/26/2007).

And yes, Obama has endorsed this carnival-style extortionist for reelection. So much for the audacity of Obama, so much for the “smallness” of politics in Chicago.

Tillman abuses and opposes anyone who thinks that slavery is not a major issue any more. When the City wanted to refinance $800 million in debt, Tillman was there claiming slavery should be an issue. Last fall, the City tried to lease parking garages for over a half billion dollars: the deal hit a “slavery speed bump.” Tillman filed suit because her slavery ordinance was brushed aside (Sun-Times 12/1/2006). “The whole world is watching us just disregard this law for black people’We’re totally disrespected as a people…,” (Sun-Times 10/31/06). On and on it goes. Sounds like the race card to me.

Tillman accused Morgan Stanley of “getting rich from investments and profits in slavery,” (Chicago Tribune, 10/30/ 2006). Morgan Stanley was formed in 1935 …

When Obama’s critics attack him for the sermons of his pastor they are going too far, in my opinion. I am not responsible for what my minister says. Preachers get a lot of leeway in the pulpit.

But when a public official files a frivolous lawsuit against a half-billion dollar public finance deal, claiming that Blacks are being disrespected because of slavery, and Obama goes on to endorse that kind of nonsense, Obama should be charged with endorsing the antics of the reparations gang.

When confronted with the claims of some of his more controversial supporters President Reagan used to say, “They endorsed me; I didn’t endorse them.”

In the case of Barry Obama and Dorothy Tillman, he has endorsed her and her unseemly reparations crusade for slavery.

Only Obama doesn’t want his national audience to know it. I seriously doubt that many of the tens of thousands of people who have succumbed to Obama’s pleas for “hope” realize he “hopes” to force them to pay tax dollars to provide some form of compensation to people who weren’t alive from people who weren’t alive, all for the evils of slavery. They have no idea who Dorothy Tillman is, or what she stands for, or the damage she continues to do to taxpayers in Chicago. All in the name of slavery.

And yet ignorant suckers keep on giving, not knowing who Obama is and what he wants to accomplish if he should end up in the Oval office.

Dorothy Tillman was arrested on March 2, 2008 in her native Montgomery, Ala. and charged with “criminal trespassing after a confrontation with hospital officials about her 86-year-old ailing aunt.” Tillman lost her seat on the Chicago City Council in April 2007, despite being endorsed by Sen. Obama.

“[Tillman] was one of Obama’s earliest supporters in his U.S. Senate bid. But others are wondering how Obama’s decision to back such a die-hard proponent of slavery reparations will play in Iowa and New Hampshire. They may have a point,” wrote Rich Miller in the Chicago Sun-Times on March 23, 2007.

Well, it looks like Obama’s association with slavery reparation proponent, Tillman, hasn’t influenced voters’ decisions one way or the other in the primaries. But, then again, when was the last time you heard the mainstream media note Obama’s relationship with Tillman, or question whether his 2007 endorsement extented to supporting her insistence on American taxpayers giving a blank check to Black Americans, even if their ancestors never owned slaves?

In the spirit of college basketball’s “March Madness,” The Penginator presents Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) “Sweet 16″ people and groups that he has turned to throughout his life for inspiration, guidance, wisdom and support. Draw your own conclusions, but don’t say I didn’t warn you about this playa’s mad fake-out skillz if he ends up winning the “Big Dance.” And, just remember this tried and tested motto of successful teams when pulling the lever at the polls, “Defense wins games!”

1. “The Marxist Professors” - The following quote is found on pages 100 and 101 from Barack Obama’s book, “Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance”:

“To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night, in the dorms, we discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society’s stifling constraints. We weren’t indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated.”

2. Frantz Fanon, the “Marx of the Third World”- “Frantz Fanon stands as a great symbolic hero among militant blacks, and his ideas find responsive audiences in the Black Writers Congresses, in the ghettoes of the United States, and in most of the universities in the new world. But within academic cirles, especially among sociologists, Fanon is still a controversial figure,” wrote Dennis Forsythe in his 1973 article entitled, “Frantz Fanon — The Marx of the Third World.”

• “The Iranian cleric Ruhollah Khomeini’s teachings — a synthesis of militant Third World radicalism derived in part from the writings of Frantz Fanon — have held Iran in the thrall of a militant theocratic tyranny since 1979,” wrote National Review’s Adrian Karatnycky on May 19, 2003. 
• “Fanon has had an inspiring impact on anti-colonial and liberation movements. In particular, Les damnés de la terre was a major influence on the work of revolutionary leaders such as Ali Shariati in Iran, Steve Biko in South Africa, Malcom X in the United States and Ernesto Che Guevara in Cuba,” states Wikipedia on Fanon. ”Of these only Guevara was primarily concerned with Fanon’s theories on violence; for Shariati and Biko the main interest in Fanon was ‘the new man’ and ‘black consciousness’ respectively. Fanon’s influence extended to the liberation movements of the Palestinians, the Tamils, African Americans and others. More recently, the South African movement Abahlali baseMjondolo is influenced by Fanon’s work.”
• “To us, the man who adores the Negro is as ’sick’ as the man who abominates him. Conversely, the black man who wants to turn his race white is as miserable as he who preaches hatred for the whites,” wrote Fanon in his 1967 book, “Black Skin, White Masks.”

3. Socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders- “The Progressive Caucus is an organization of Members of Congress founded in 1991 by newly-elected House Representative Bernie Sanders (Independent-Vermont), the former mayor of Burlington and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which describes itself as ‘the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International.’”

4. Communist mass murderer Che Guevara - “We don’t have to speculate about Che’s ideals. They’re on full display 90 miles south of Florida–a Stalinist police state where the regime mandates what its subjects, read, say, earn, eat (both substance and amount), where they live, travel or work. Che’s dream wasn’t to convert Latin America into Sweden–he wanted to convert it into Stalin’s Soviet Union. In fact he often signed his early correspondence, ‘Stalin II.’ This KGB-trained and worshiping hangman named Che now serves as the idol of ‘do your own thing’ radicals and the slogan that adorns Che posters under T-shirts is ‘Resist Oppression.’ The mind boggles. It really required a sense of humor to write this book–otherwise I’d have gone nuts,” states Cuban-born Humberto Fontova, author of, “Exposing the Real Che Guevara: And the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him.”

5. Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. (Obama’s “spiritual advisor”)- “Obama, the guiding hand to American unanimity, has for the past 20 years been a parishioner at Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ, whose leader is, by any reasonable standard, a racist,” opined David Harsanyi in his March 4, 2008 Denver Post Op-ed. ”The pastor in question is Jeremiah Wright Jr. It was his use of the term ‘audacity of hope’ in a sermon that inspired Obama to title his best-selling book with the phrase. Wright is a longtime supporter of Nation of Islam’s Louis Farrakhan. Last year, the ‘Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award’ was given to Farrakhan, who, it turns out, ‘truly epitomized greatness.’”

6. Abongo ‘Roy’ Obama - “The person who made me proudest of all … was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam, and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol,” the Examiner (D.C.) reported on Jan. 29, 2007 about Obama’s affection for his brother, Roy.

Now, piece that display of brotherly love together with a Jan. 15, 2008 report from Investor’s Business Daily (that appears nearly a year after the Examiner.com article) which introduces us to the real Roy, and you’ll see why there’s reason to question Obama’s brotherly love for his militant Muslim brother.

“Obama has close family ties to Kenya, and even founded a school in his ancestral village — the Senator Obama School.

 

“In the bloody conflict there, which already has claimed some 700 lives, Obama appears to have sided with opposition leader Raila Odinga, head of the same Luo tribe to which Obama’s late Muslim father belonged.

 

“Obama’s older brother still lives there. Abongo ‘Roy’ Obama is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim who argues that the black man must ‘liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture.’ He urges his younger brother to embrace his African heritage.

 

“Beyond family politics, these ties have potential foreign policy, even national security, implications,” notes the Investor’s Business Daily article.

7. Bob Moses, draft dodger - “‘What really inspired me,’ Obama told me during one of several conversations about his work as an organizer, ‘was the civil rights movement. And if you asked me who my role model was at that time, it would probably be Bob Moses, the famous sncc [Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee] organizer.’”

• According to U.S. News and World Report, “In 1966, [Moses] left for Canada when, at the age of 31, he received a draft notice. After a stint teaching math in Tanzania, he returned to the United States when President Jimmy Carter granted amnesty to draft resisters.”

8. Saul D. Alinksy, Satan admirer- “Obama … had this to say about legendary Chicago organizer Saul Alinsky in The New Republic:

“Sometimes the tendency in community organizing of the sort done by Alinsky was to downplay the power of words and of ideas when in fact ideas and words are pretty powerful. ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, all men are created equal.’ Those are just words. ‘I have a dream.’ Just words.”

• “The 1972 Vintage Books paperback edition of Rules for Radicals by Saul D. Alinksy has a page of quotes just before the table of contents. In the last of the three quotes, Alinsky himself said the following:

“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”

9. Malcolm X - “Obama, who would start his career in politics as a community organizer in Chicago, wrote that he also found solace in the autobiography of Malcolm X, with his ‘unadorned insistence on respect.’”

• This video compilation of Obama speeches shows the candidate ”borrowing words” from historical figures. It starts out with him telling a crowd of black supporters in South Carolina that they’ve been “hood winked, bamboozled,” just like the “star” of Spike Lee’s movie, “Malcolm X.” It’s like one of those remix tapes, but with Obama starring as the mix-master.
  
• “Obama’s verbs [hood winked and bamboozled], according to this analysis, were chosen to echo a speech by the eponymous hero of Spike Lee’s 1992 ‘Malcolm X,’ and thus to send a secret message,” states Jan Freeman in The Boston Globe. “But why would Obama need a coded racial message? I can see that Spike Lee’s film use of bamboozled might resonate with African-American voters, especially since Lee titled a subsequent movie ‘Bamboozled.’ But isn’t Malcolm X, the controversial black separatist, the last person the ‘uniter’ candidate would purposely invoke?”

10. Allah- “Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” Translated literally, that Muslim prayer says:

“Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Hasten to the Prayer, hasten to the Prayer. Hasten to real success, hasten to real success. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is none worthy of worship but Allah.”

11. Al Sharpton - “Presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama D-Ill., stopped for a little soul food with Al Sharpton in Harlem Thursday (Nov. 29, 2007) evening. Arriving together in the same car, the two were flanked by people on the street outside the popular soul food restaurant, ‘Silvia’s’ in the heart of Harlem. Obama yelled, ‘We gon’ shake up the world,’ as he entered the restaurant side by side with Sharpton.”

• According to Sen. Obama, “Reverend Sharpton is a voice for the voiceless, and a voice for the dispossessed. What National Action Network has done is so important to change America, and it must be changed from the bottom up.”
• “Sharpton’s National Action Network is currently being probed by the New York state attorney general’s office over possible wrongdoing involving his organization’s finances. But that hasn’t stopped him or his group from cashing in on this case. In one weekend alone Sharpton’s group raised $100,000 for its ‘Jena Fund’ (cha-ching!),” noted black conservative civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, in his Sept. 27, 2007 WorldNetDaily.com column. 

12. Jena 6 - “Today I stand with those who stand for justice in Jena,” said Sen. Obama in a Sept. 20 press statement. “The thousands of Americans from every race and region who have descended on this small Louisiana town carry forth the legacy of all those who sat at lunch counters and took freedom rides to strike a blow against injustice wherever it may exist. When a noose hangs from a schoolyard tree in the 21st century and young men are treated in a way that is not equal nor just, it is not just an offense to the people of Jena or to the African-American community, it is an offense to the ideals we hold as Americans. I renew my call for the District Attorney to drop the excessive charges filed in this case, and I will continue my decades-long fight against injustice and division as President.”

• “Since the ‘Jena 6′ case in which several black youths beat a white classmate unconscious after a noose-hanging incident several months earlier at Jena High School, black leaders have galvanized in an effort to recreate a new ‘civil rights’ movement. They’ve jumped on virtually every alleged racial incident around the country. Their goal is quite simple — to build power and wealth dousing racial fires with gasoline,” remarked Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, in his WorldNetDaily.com column. 

13. Kanye West - “I’ve met with Jay-Z; I’ve met with Kanye. And I’ve talked to other artists about how potentially to bridge that gap. I think the potential for them to deliver a message of extraordinary power that gets people thinking (is massive),” Obama said during Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) political special “What’s In It For Us?”.

• According to armchair political pundit Kanye West, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people!”

14. Jay Z - It’s easy to see why Obama wants Jay Z’s support when you read (and, hum along to) a sample of the rapper’s lyrics:

“I’m from the hood stupid, what type of facts are those
  If you grew up with holes in ya zapatos
  You’d be celebrating the minute you was havin’ dough
  I’m like f#ck critics you can kiss my whole asshole
  If you don’t like my lyrics you can press fast forward
  I got beef with radio if i don’t play they show
  They don’t play my hits i don’t give a shit SO
  Rap mags try and use my black ass
  So advertisers can give ‘em more cash for ads, f#ck3rs
  I don’t know what you take me as,
  Or understand the intelligence that Jay-Z has
  I’m from rags to ritches niggas I ain’t dumb
  I got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one
  Hit me”

15. Ludacris, enemy of Oprah - “[Ludacris] was dropped as a Pepsi spokesman in 2004 after Pepsi’s choice drew criticism from talk show host Bill O’Reilly and the conservative right. And last year he ended up in a war of words with media mogul Oprah Winfrey after accusing her of being against rappers because she doesn’t feature them on her show. Winfrey responded by asserting she doesn’t condone the negative images of women propagated by Ludacris and others in lyrics and videos.” But Obama did let his good friend, Oprah’s, concerns stop him from from promoting ”AIDS awareness” with Ludacris at Northwestern University on November 29, 2006.

16. Speaking of Oprah Winfrey: “Oprah talked about her humble beginnings in Mississippi, and particularly about how her mother’s highest aspiration for her was that she might end up cleaning white people’s houses, because ‘they give away nice clothes.’ And then Oprah pointed out that now that she’s Oprah, she has ‘all these white people’ working for her, and that in fact there’s only one black person on the staff. Way to turn the tables, girl,” reported TMZ on Sept. 25, 2006.

I know I said this was a “Sweet 16″ round-up, but let’s give props to Obama’s soul-mate, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson-Obama: Mrs. Obama’s 1985 Princeton University thesis “offers several fascinating insights into the mind of Michelle Obama, who has been a passionate advocate of her husband’s presidential aspirations and who has made several controvesial statements, including this week’s remark, ‘For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.’ That comment has fueled debate on countless blogs, radio talk shows and cable news for days on end, causing her to explain the statement in greater detail,” the Politico.com reported on Feb. 22, 2008.

• “It’s pretty simple: she obviously hates white people and will never get along with them,” states the Wonkette on her no-b.s. blog with regards to the following sentiments expressed by Michelle La Vaughn Robinson (Obama) in her thesis:

“My experiences at Princeton have made me far more aware of my ‘blackness’ than ever before… I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don’t belong. Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second.”

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) reluctantly said he would “reject” and “denounce” the support of Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan on Tuesday night when prodded by Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) during a debate. That’s all fine and dandy, but it appears Obama has historically hired Farrakhan followers and is currently promoting a link on his campaign website that features “controversial” Islamic organizations.

According to a Jan. 30 report by political commentator Debbie Schlussel, “[A] former Obama insider says that Obama’s sudden aversion to NOI and Farrakhan is belied by the fact that Obama employed and continues to employ several Farrakhan acolytes in high positions on his Illinois and U.S. Senate campaign and office staffs.”

Schlussel reported on the Nation of Islam affiliations of Obama staffers well before the recent controversy arose over Farrakhan’s unofficial endorsement of Obama. She was careful to note that the anonymous insider who provided her with information about Obama’s Farrakhan-allied staffers “is not connected with the Clintons and is not a disgruntled employee,” though I’m sure that will be contested by Obama supporters (See “comments” section on top of this page.).

“I have verified that this person — who agreed to talk on the condition of anonymity — held a key position in the Obama campaign,” Schlussel wrote. ”The insider was so close to Senator Obama that they frequently personally discussed and exchanged direct e-mail messages on campaign and policy matters.”

The anonymous insider told Schlussel that he “frequently objected to Mr. Obama’s placement of Cynthia K. Miller, a member of the Nation of Islam, as the Treasurer of his U.S. Senate campaign.” When Schlussel contacted Miller to inquire about her relationship with the Nation of Islam, she replied, “None of your business! Where are you going with this?”

Miller told Schlussel that the reason she resigned her position as Treasurer of Obama’s U.S. Senate campaign was not due to her involvement in the Nation of Islam, and there’s nothing Miller said or Schlussel reported to imply that Obama voiced his objections to her membership in the controversial organization.

“The Obama insider says he also objected to Obama’s involvement with Jennifer Mason, whom he says is also a member of the Nation of Islam,” Schlussel wrote. ”Mason is Obama’s Director of Constituent Services in his U.S. Senate office and is also in charge of selecting Obama’s Senate interns. She did not respond to repeated calls for comment.”

Here’s the red meat of Schussel’s investigation:

“But it’s not just that he employed these individuals in positions of power in his office, it’s that when the former associate raised objections, he says Mr. Obama’s position was that he saw nothing wrong with the Nation of Islam and didn’t think it was a problem. If true–and the fact that Ms. Mason still holds her prominent Obama Senate staff position bears that out–Obama’s condemnation of Farrakhan, this month, is phony.

“But the insider says there is more to it than that. Obama’s Illinois State Senate district consisted of prime Nation of Islam territory, including Hyde Park, home to Farrakhan’s mansion. It is not possible, Illinois politicos say, to win that district without the blessing of the NOI leader. NOI members, including consultant Shakir Muhammad, held important roles in the Obama state senate campaign.”

Read Schlussel’s report to find plenty more examples of Obama surrounding himself with those who espouse the anti-Semitic sentiments of Farrakhan, as well as pictures of Obama partying with his wife, Michelle, and Palestinian Liberation Organization/Arafat Advisor Edward Said at an Arab fundraiser.

In addition to Schlussel’s insight, a Jan. 25, 2008 report by CNSNews.com shows that a featured link on Obama’s campaign website promotes events sponsored by “contoversial” Islamic groups.

“A portion of the ‘Muslim Americans for Obama’ page lists proposals to establish a Muslim American advisory group on U.S. foreign policy; provide prayer areas in public places such as malls, airports, universities and government buildings; institute a law to allow Muslim employees to take time from their work day for prayer; and institute a law against harassment of Muslim women in public areas …

“But it is a link and a list of events on the Muslim Americans for Obama page that has prompted critics that consider themselves watchdogs of Islamist groups to take notice.

“The list of events on the Muslim Americans for Obama page includes voter registration drives at conventions sponsored by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), held last April and August in Rosemont, Ill., and the convention co-sponsored by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and the Muslim American Society (MAS).”

Note that the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) ”is a Jamad Islamia group, which is on record as calling for jihad in the United States, to promote the notion of an Islamic world. ICNA also published something very recently saying that they are against suicide bombings, except when it comes to killing Israelis,” according to Middle East anaylst Daniel Pipes.

Further, FrontPageMagazine reports, ”MAS (Muslim American Society) was incorporated in the state of Illinois, in June of 1993. According to a December 2007 federal court brief concerning convicted terrorist Sabri Benkahla, a former member of the infamous ‘Virginia Jihad Network,’ ‘MAS was founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.’ [PDF] Amongst its founders was Mohamed Mahdi Akef, who is today the International Chairman of the Brotherhood.”

M. Zhudi Jasser, chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, and a Muslim, told CNSNews.com, “Any candidate that engaged American Islamist organizations without any ideological litmus test about their stances regarding the transnational goals of Islamism, I think that is going to be a major liability.” There’s merit in Mr. Jasser’s warning, Obama, and you’d be wise to consider it.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is proud of his brother, Abongo ‘Roy’ Obama, who converted to Islam from Christianity. Sounds innocent enough if you read the Examiner.com article about Obama’s ties to his African family and their mixed religious backgrounds.

Here’s what the Examiner (D.C.) reported on Jan. 29, 2007 about Obama’s affection for brother, Roy:

“‘The person who made me proudest of all,’ Obama wrote, ‘was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam, and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol.’”

Now, piece that together with a Jan. 15, 2008 report from Investor’s Business Daily (that appears nearly a year after the Examiner.com article) which introduces us to the real Roy, and you’ll see why there’s reason to question Obama’s brotherly love for his militant Muslim brother.

“Obama has close family ties to Kenya, and even founded a school in his ancestral village — the Senator Obama School.

“In the bloody conflict there, which already has claimed some 700 lives, Obama appears to have sided with opposition leader Raila Odinga, head of the same Luo tribe to which Obama’s late Muslim father belonged.

“Obama’s older brother still lives there. Abongo ‘Roy’ Obama is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim who argues that the black man must ‘liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture.’ He urges his younger brother to embrace his African heritage.

Beyond family politics, these ties have potential foreign policy, even national security, implications.”

The story remains untold to what extent Obama is committed to embracing his African heritage and supporting the militant activities of his brother, Roy, or the anti-Christian declarations of Raila Odinga, who claims to be his cousin. I think we already have a good idea about the leanings of his wife, Michelle, as evidenced by her tolerance for “white oppressors.”

If you think Hillary was the brains behind Bill in the White House, then just imagine the brilliant ideas Michelle has in store for her husband, Barack, to unleash on America. I’m guessing that she’s thinking, “It’s payback time!” And, maybe that’s a notion embraced by the entire Obama family.

In wake of the recent media buzz about the potential for the man who would become America’s first black President being assassinated, there hasn’t been a single mention by the mainstream media about how such a tragedy would impact our nation, its citizens and their communities. If anyone’s thinking that Americans would simply mourn the loss of their leader by paying their respects and carrying on with their lives on in due time, just as they did when Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy were murdered in office, think again.

The mainstream media has noted in their reckless reports about the potential for Obama to be assassinated that this is a real fear among blacks as we edge closer to the reality of a black man becoming President of the United States. Many blacks simply don’t trust that the racists and hate-mongers among us will let Obama lead our diverse nation.

Just read what world heavyweight-light champion Bernard Hopkins said in a Feb. 12 report and you’ll see that blacks’ fears are growing and being taken seriously, especially when the media promotes the notion of Obama being assassinated in their headlines.

“If he gets the nomination they won’t let him become president, but if they do, it will be for a short time, maybe less than a month or two … His life would be in jeopardy.” Hopkins said. “People may say it is time for change but when it comes down to it, I don’t think America is ready for that type of heat … I do not think Obama would survive for too long if he won and Hillary seems the best person for the job.”

Now, let’s breach the topic the mainstream media has yet to touch, possibly out of fear that they would offend blacks by insinuating that they would rise up and riot in cities across the U.S. in wake of the assassination of Obama, or possibly even an unsuccessful attempt on his life. 

Riots spurred by the assassination of Obama would be a real threat to Americans’ safety and that of their communities across the U.S., and anyone who thinks differently needs to recall the outcome from the Rodney King trial in Los Angeles, Calif. Remember, Rodney King was an unknown black man in a single city until he achieved his fame. Obama has achieved national fame and is embraced in the hearts of millions of blacks across the nation.

It’s time for the media to take their kid gloves off and acknowledge that the potential for mass chaos, devastation, destruction and loss of innocent lives is a true threat to our nation, should an assassination attempt be made — successful or unsuccessful – on the life of a President Obama.

Instead of shamelessly playing on the fears of so many black Americans while inspiring and raising the hopes of racists and hate mongers that Obama might be assassinated, one would be inclined to assume that the media would make attempts to interview federal law enforcement officials, especially the U.S. Secret Service, about how they are preparing for the possibility of such a threat to Obama’s life while having them affirm their allegiance to any person of any race who holds the office of President of the United States. That might go a long way in drowning the fears of blacks in hope for preserving the life of the man who would become America’s first black president. When was the last time you heard any law enforcement agency or official publicly re-affirm their committment to protecting blacks?

Blacks truly need to believe that federal law enforcement efforts would be committed to providing the same top-notch protection to a black president as they would afford any white person elected to lead our nation. In the sad and unfortunate event that such an attempt on Obama’s life was ever made, there needs to be no question about the integrity of our nation’s law enforcement officials and agents, racial preferences and their allegiance, or lack thereof, to a black Commander-in-Chief.

The mainstream media would be wise to include such professions of commitment from federal law enforcement officials in their hypothetical reports about an assassination attempt on Obama’s life, so that if this unfortunate event should ever occur, blacks and those already questioning the racial preferences of our federal government, will not seek justice in the streets and know that law enforcement did everything within their power to prevent such a horrible tragedy.

Should the media persist in hypothesizing about the assassination of a President Obama, they should consider featuring black voices advocating the mending of fences, not tearing them down, and how the murder of Obama would destroy every civil rights victory achieved by Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy. Until those black voices are given an outlet by the media to be heard in conjunction with reckless ponderings about Obama’s potential to be assassinated, silence will prevail on the airwaves, in print and across the Internet, and conspiracy theories will continue to stir in the minds of blacks fearful of one of their own falling victim to another hate crime at the hands of a racist and federal officials who didn’t care enough to protect Obama.

Beastiality to Carry Tougher Penalty than Mudering Animals in Florida - ”If the bill becomes law, having sex with an animal would result in a harsher penalty than committing an act to animal that results in that animal’s ‘cruel death, or excessive or repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering.’” Let me remind you that the beastiality bill was pitched to a Florida state senator by a regional animal rights organization after a pregnant goat was raped and killed by some sicko. Again, if you kill or torture an animal in Florida, you’ll receive a less severe penalty than having sex with one if this bill passes.

Rapper Q-Tip of Tribe Called Quest, which I’ll admit sounded pretty hot back in the day, believes Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has the power to “change” America for the better, just like rap music has done for ending poverty, reducing drug use and raising the self-esteem of those caught up in the ghetto culture. Sure, I’ll entertain the notion that Sen. Obama might have the power to influence positive change if elected, but taking a page from the rap industry playbook to generate succesful results is downright ignorant.

“Hip-hop culture was the product of the impoverished who found strength and solace in this music phenomenon. It is a transformational art form born of neighborhoods where crime and drugs were on the rise and self-esteem was sinking. The education system was failing, and the odds were against us,” states Q-Tip in his endorsement of Obama. “But as a people, we persevered. I know about having true substance, new ideas and a desire for fundamental change like Senator Obama … I am endorsing Barack Obama because I feel that we can benefit greatly from a leader that offers sound judgment and experience rooted in the lives of real people.” 

Wow! I had no idea rap music had achieved such great success in transforming the lives of so many, aside from making millionaires out of music industry moguls and a select few rappers who manage to remain on the scene after their first albums are released. And, now, Q-Tip would have us believe that a President Obama will offer the same “sound judgement” as enlisted by the rap industry to ”change” America for the better? Surely, Sen. Obama is smart enough to realize that rap music is anything but a vehicle for promoting positive change … and, you’re kidding yourself if you truly believe any of Q-Tip’s unfounded rant that attempts to equate the so-called positive of influence of rap music with the power of Sen. Obama to influence positive change across our diverse nation.

As far as rap music’s positive effects on raising the self-esteem of listeners and helping them to persevere when faced with tough challenges, no matter where they come from, let’s consider the fact that we still see and hear:

1. Rappers dropping lyrics about women being “bitches,” “sluts,” “whores,” etc.
2. By his own admission, rapper Ludacris, while addressing college students about safe sex and condom use with Sen. Obama in 2006, said, “I talk a lot about sex in my music, but you don’t ever hear me talk about condoms.”
3. The prolific use of the “N-word,” but we are told to believe that’s just a term of affection among blacks, though not a single person who is not black should ever let it slip from his lips without the expectation of a physical beat down, getting fired from your job or expelled from school, a visit from the Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton … or all of the above.
4. Ghetto life being glamorized in rap videos as we watch gangstas roll down the streets of neighborhoods most sensible people know better than to drive on during the daytime even with a police escort.
5. Album titles such as Nas’ latest release, “Nigger,” being met with initial media controversy, then peddled by merchants for profit with not so much as a whisper from anyone further condemning the album’s release on shelves within clear view of kids who will be the next generation to embrace the “N-word.”
6. Drinking Cristal at the club or sipping 40s on the front porch with your homeboys is the thing to do if you want to be a true playa’.
7. Toting a gun is nothing but a sensible means of protecting yourself and the ones you love, because you never know who might want to bust a cap in your ass.
8. Smiling is an absolute no-no, unless you’re showing off your golden or platinum “grill” because you always need to look tough and intimidating, never friendly and thereby risk giving the impression that you’re weak.
9. Smacking your bitch is just a means of spousal discipline to ensure your mutually loving and respectful relationship endures through troubled times.
10. Prison must be portrayed as a right of passage in to adulthood, and the more times you’re locked up, the harder you get, which is a good thing.
11. It’s not a party unless there are dozens of scantily clad women and you’re the only male.
12. Driving your parents old car just isn’t cool because by the the time you reach the ripe old age of 19, it’s logical that you should be able to afford a pimped-out Cadillac Escalade through your “entrepeneurial” endeavors, like freelance pharmaceutical sales on street corners. Working as a waiter or store clerk will get you nowhere quickly, and that’s just not gonna fly if you want to get with the honeys.
13. Smoking a fat joint chock full of the “chronic” is just a means of relaxation and harmless fun.
14. Getting more tattoos than an Eagle Scout has merit badges is a true sign of your accomplishments.
15. Mimicking every cool new phrase or terminology crafted by Snoop Dogg, like “fo-shizzle,” will come in handy on the SAT verbal section, and possibly during interviews with potential employers who think their companies need to embrace diversity by hiring someone who wears his pants hanging off his ass, has a chain around his neck with a oversized medallion that mesmerizes anyone who gazes at the spinning replica of a tire rim, and has an amazing global business sense because of the numerous watches dangling on both of his wrists (each one telling time in a different global time zones so he knows when the opening bells ring on the stock markets in New York, London and Frankfurt, of course).  

I’m sure I forgot something, but the rap industry is so inventive, a new trend will certainly arise in the near future that glamorizes every parent’s worst nightmare, or manages to put money in the pockets of people exploiting the vulnerability of America’s youth by making them believe they can have it all if they try really hard to find shortcuts on the, more often than not, long and winding road to success.

So, Q-Tip, if electing Obama will create positive “change” just like rap music has done for so many young, impoverished and vulnerable young Americans struggling to improve their lives, I’m dying to hear about how the rest of hard-working, goal-oriented Americans will fare under a President Obama, because you’re pretty much telling them that they should quit their days jobs and not give a shit about pursuing the American Dream the old fashioned way — by working hard and earning it, all while having a strong sense of respect for others and self.

Whether you realize it or not, Q-Tip, you just described how to achieve the American Nightmare, and that’s probably not the endorsement that Sen. Obama was hoping to receive or the inspirational message to voters that he’d like to promote. Bling-bling! It’s time to wake-up to reality.
